Yogurtland expanding to Singapore

January 23, 2017

Yogurtland continues its international expansion with the opening of its first location in Singapore at the Suntec City Mall overlooking the Fountain of Wealth, according to a company press release.

This is the first of several locations planned for Singapore by Yogurtland's area developer, Flavour Playground, headed by Oak Chinawongwatana and Joe Hee. The franchisee spearheaded the expansion in Southeast Asia with the opening of 15 Yogurtland locations in Bangkok, Thailand, over the past two years.

"Yogurtland is a great success in Thailand, and we are excited to bring the brand to Singapore," Chinawongwatana said in the release. "Singaporean consumers love frozen yogurt, and with more than 200 flavors, we have the largest variety to choose from in the marketplace. We have great confidence that Yogurtland will be the market leader in Singapore, just as it is in the USA and Thailand."

This first Singapore Yogurtland, which opened earlier this month, features a bright, modern interior and will serve eight flavors of frozen yogurt and feature more than 30 fruit and premium toppings, Chinawongwatana said. It will, however, adapt to local tastes by serving popular candies and fruits from the region. To add to the social element of the Yogurtland experience, the unit will have a photo booth for guests to take photos of their frozen yogurt creations for social shares.

"We are bullish about the future of Yogurtland in Southeast Asia and are excited to bring the best of Yogurtland to Singapore," said John Wayne Carlson, vice president of development for Yogurtland. "It's a strong endorsement of the brand when our existing developers choose to continue their growth and take on new challenges, and we look forward with excitement to expanding to more countries in this region."
