W.Va., Mass. town, quash menu labeling proposals
April 7, 2009
The Charleston Gazette: Members of the West Virginia House Government Organization Committee ate breakfast biscuits from Tudor's Biscuit World and McDonald's as well as Krispy Kreme doughnuts provided by a delegate as they voted 16-7 to kill a menu labeling bill.
WCVB TV Boston: Town leaders in Brookline, Mass., voted against a proposed mandate that would have required all Brookline restaurants to post calorie counts on their menus. The issue could return at a town meeting in May but likely as a recommendation for restaurants and not a mandate.
