Wingstop to fly into Chicago
June 8, 2010
Wingstop is launching an expansion campaign designed to add more than 50 restaurants throughout the Chicago and Midwest area.
The expansion effort will begin with a Tour & Taste franchise event at the Hyatt Regency Chicago on June 23. The event will connect franchise prospects with Wingstop executives and samples of the chain's award-winning wings.
Wingstop has 450 stores throughout the U.S. and Mexico, and 14 franchised locations already open in Chicago, including the top-grossing store in the system.
"Chicago loves wings and we have a very loyal fan following here," said Bruce Evans, vice president of franchise development for Wingstop. "There is a huge growth opportunity in Chicago and the Midwest, and we look forward to meeting the right franchise partners to help us continue opening successful stores in this area."
Dallas-based Wingstop was founded in 1994 and began franchising in 1997. The chain recently experienced a record 27 consecutive quarters of positive same-store sales and systemwide sales have grown from $11.9 million in 2000 to $306.7 million in 2009.
