Wingstop signs development agreement with Rick Ross

August 4, 2011

Maybach Music Group CEO and Platinum Selling Recording Artist Rick Ross has added Wingstop to his portfolio.

Ross recently signed a development agreement to bring Wingstop to Memphis, Tenn. and will open his first of several Wingstop restaurants this fall.

On his last album, "Teflon Don," Ross, also known as the Boss, raps about Wingstop, creatively positioning his new venture.

"After tasting Wingstop's signature Lemon Pepper-flavored wings in Miami, I knew this was a franchise I wanted to add to my investments," Ross said.

The Def Jam Recording Artist received No. 1 Billboard billing for his major label debut "Port of Miami," his sophomore release "Trilla," and his third album "Deeper Than Rap."

Ross is currently on the second leg of the "I Am Music Tour" with Lil Wayne, preparing for the release of his fifth studio album in addition to building his Maybach Music Group Empire.

Ross joins a growing list of high-profile franchisees, including NFL and NBA athletes, who are attracted to Wingstop as a business investment. Earlier this year company spokesman and Fox Sports analyst Troy Aikman became an investor in the company and now sits on the Wingstop board of directors.
