Wingstop has posted positive quarterly results from the brand's recent expansion. The chain opened 16 new locations and generated an 8.6-percent increase in same-store sales from July through September.
So far in 2013, Wingstop restaurants have produced $457 million in worldwide sales, a 27-percent increase over 2012. In addition, Wingstop announced 20 new development deals in the third quarter, while opening new restaurants in Northern Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, California, Oregon and Texas.
"The performance of our restaurants in the third quarter is a testament to the strength of the Wingstop concept," said Charlie Morrison, Wingstop president and CEO. "As we look ahead to 2014, we are confident that we are perfectly aligned to solidify our position as the 'The Wing Experts,' not only in the U.S., but worldwide."
Wingstop is on track to finish the year with 65 new U.S. locations, in addition to international agreements in Russia, Singapore and Mexico.
