Wingstop reported a 15.3-percent increase in same-store sales growth in Q2 2014.
Wingstop also signed 20 new domestic development agreements in the second quarter for 61 new restaurants, bringing the total so far for 2014 to 138 restaurants. The company also opened 31 restaurants for the quarter and 19 of those restaurants in the month of June, the most openings for any month in Wingstop's 20-year history, according to a news release.
Wingstop continued its international expansion as well, opening the first of 50 planned locations in the Philippines and the first of 100 planned restaurants in Indonesia.
Wingstop President and CEO Charlie Morrison credits the quality of new brand partners, an aggressive approach to developing units in new markets and successful promotions for driving the performance.
"This year is shaping up to be one for the record books," he said in the release. "We are poised for continued growth due primarily to having the largest development pipeline in the company's history."
Other second quarter highlights included:
"The first half of our 20th anniversary year has resulted in record growth," Morrison said. "With a new ad campaign launching this fall just in time for football season and our continued expansion world-wide, we are positioned for 2014 to be the best year ever for Wingstop."
