Wingstop gears up for Super Bowl Sunday
January 24, 2007
DALLAS – The chicken-wing-only chain Wingstop estimates it will sell more than 3 million chicken wings Feb. 4, Super Bowl Sunday.
According to a news release, Super Bowl Sunday has consistently netted the chain's largest gross sales day each year for its 280 locations. In 2006, the chain sold more than 2.5 million wings.
"Super Bowl Sunday is one of the most exciting days of the year for us and all of our franchisees are well prepared for the rush," said Jim Flynn, Wingstop's chief executive officer. "We have guests that return to Wingstop year after year because they know that we're the wing experts and our wings will be prepared fresh and made-to-order — even on a day when we make more than 2.5 million of them."
To avoid the game-day rush, all Wingstop locations will accept pre-orders.
