(PRZOOM - Newswire) – Dallas, TX, 08/17/2005 - On Aug. 5, in celebration of their 250th location opening, Wingstop CEO Jim Flynn and Spokesperson Troy Aikman addressed the media and public about their continued success as the leading chicken-wing chain as well as the company's future growth. The celebration and announcement took place at the location of the 250th store in Plano, Texas at 3309 Dallas Pkwy., Suite 499.

"We are definitely excited to announce our 250th store opening," said Jim Flynn, CEO of Wingstop Restaurants, Inc. "With the current growth rate of Wingstops across America, we project that we will be celebrating our 500-store milestone sometime in 2007."

The celebration also included an elimination-style football toss in search of Wingstop's Wingman. Wingman contest winner, Robert Coughenour, was presented a signed football from Troy Aikman, Texas Rangers tickets and a certificate for free chicken wings. In addition, the Eagle's Wings Flyers all-star cheerleading squad was on hand to provide entertainment.

Todd Metten, of Wings By Metten, Ltd., opened Wingstop's 250th location in Plano's Windhaven Shopping Plaza.

The chain offers restaurants with a nostalgic, aviation-themed atmosphere where the sole focus is on chicken wings. Wingstop features nine proprietary wing flavors, including Original Hot, Cajun, Atomic, Mild, Teriyaki, Lemon Pepper, Hawaiian, Garlic Parmesan and the brand new Hickory Smoked BBQ. The wings are always made-to-order and served steaming hot. Customers also choose from homemade side dishes: fresh-cut seasoned fries, bourbon baked beans, pearl potato salad, creamy cole slaw, vegetable sticks, rolls and assorted dipping sauces.

Wingstop has more than 400 restaurants either open or under development in 25 states and consistently tops industry growth rankings. In 2004, Wingstop was ranked the number one chicken wing chain by Entrepreneur magazine and number four in Restaurants & Institutions' Top 400 Sales-Growth Leaders (the only wing chain in the top ten). In July 2005, Wingstop ranked number 13 in Restaurant Business' Top 50 Growth Chains (ranked by percentage increase in units). Troy Aikman, former Dallas Cowboy and three-time Super Bowl champion, signed on as the chain's national spokesman in 2003. Agency: S. Bell, Inc.
