Wings Etc testing new flavor in Missouri

Indiana-based Wings Etc. is testing a Habanero Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich in three of its Southeast Missouri restaurants in Cape Girardeau, Dexter and Jackson.

The sandwich features a crispy chicken breast and two of the chain's 21 wing toppings, the peppery-flavored TNT sauce and the habanero-based Wall sauce.

"Wings Etc. is about bringing crave-worthy flavors to our guests, and we're long-term players in the chicken sandwich wars," Wings Etc. CEO Rob Hensmann said in a company press release. "Fried chicken sandwiches and chicken sandwiches with sweet-heat are a top trend, and we continue to create intriguing ways to satisfy the demand. Our take on hot honey—blending honey with two of our signature hot sauces — is a unique and delicious take on the 'swicy' trend. We're already seeing encouraging results from early trial, with very enthusiastic guest feedback."
