On the move: Which brands signed deals and opened new units this week?

Winter weather hasn't put the freeze on growth for several fast casual concepts. Capriotti's, Jersey Mike's Subs, Manny's Neighborhood Grilles and Mediterranean Cafes and Newk's Eatery all signed deals for new units, and many more units opened this week.

Winter weather hasn't put the freeze on growth for several fast casual concepts. Here's a round up of new franchise agreements:

Capriotti's Sandwich Shop will open its first Illinois unit is late 2015. The franchisees, Andy Poch and Craig Garafalo, plan to open the location in the Chicago area. The deal puts Capriotti's in 17 states.

Jersey Mike's Subs has signed a 10-unit deal with Mohegan Restaurant (JM Subs) LLC. The territory covers Rhode Island and the southern section of Worcester County in Massachusetts. The corporation is part of the Mohegan Tribe.

Manny's Neighborhood Grilles and Mediterranean Cafes has signed a multi-unit deal to open locations in three North Carolina cities: Greenville, New Bern and Raleigh. The franchisees are Eric Valera and Dennis Hoffer.

Newk's Eatery has signed a deal to open a new unit at 707 Gervais Street in Columbia, South Carolina in late 2015. The new franchisees are Chris and Pam Corn. Newk's now has 77 units in 13 states, primarily in the Southeast.

And here's a round up of new units opening this week:

Creamistry opened a new location at 1390 S. Fullerton Road #104 in Rowland Heights, California. Creamistry also has locations in Cerritos, Corona, Irvine and Long Beach. A new location is in the works for Costa Mesa.

Dickey's Barbecue Pitmarked the opening of two new locations this week:

• at 1610 Herndon Avenue, Suite 106 in Clovis, California.
• at 401 West Lennon Hwy 69 North in Emory, Texas. Jay Akhlaq is the general manager.

Juice It Up! opened a new location in The Prairie Center at 1700 Rock Prairie road in College Station, Texas. Vijay and Ria Kumar are the operators.

Kneaders Bakery & Caféwill open its ninth location in Tempe, Arizona on March 6. The new unit is located at 2030 East Elliott Road. Steven Fuilangi is the operating partner.

Maui Wowi announced the roll-out of a new concession trailer in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Franchisees Keith and Lori Mitchell will user the trailer at community events.

Menchie's opened a new location at 4709 Colleyville Blvd., Suite 520 in Colleyville, Texas. The franchisee is Bill Brown.

LA Crawfish has opened its newest franchise location at 939 West Bay Area Boulevard in Webster, Texas.

Pie Five Pizzahas opened its first Alabama restaurant at 4741 Chace Landing Circle, Suite 114, in Hoover.

Pieologyhas opened its 25th location in Southern California. The new location, at 3850 Main Street in Culver City, is owned by franchisees Mary Khaleghian and Max Javadi.
