Wayback Burgers giving away food to vets at Port Hueneme location

In addition to the Port Hueneme promotion, more than 85 Wayback Burgers locations nationwide will offer veterans and active-duty military a free Wayback Classic Burger with the purchase of any side and any drink.

Wayback Burgers is offering free food all day today to veterans and active duty military personnel on the Port Hueneme Naval Base location in Ventura County, California.

The Wayback Burgers opened its first military base location on the Port Hueneme Naval Base Ventura County in January 2014. The base population is comprised of more than 19,000 personnel.

In addition to the Port Hueneme promotion, more than 85 Wayback Burgers locations nationwide will offer veterans and active-duty military presenting valid ID a free Wayback Classic Burger with the purchase of any side and any drink.

"It's our way of saying thanks to the real heroes on the Port Hueneme Naval Base and across the country with real classic burgers," President John Eucalitto said in a company press release. "We are proud to honor the sacrifices made by veterans past, present and future. Many of our guests have connections to the military, so giving back to those who serve our country is very important to us. We want to show our support and appreciation for all of these brave men and women and their families."
