Velvet Taco develops 'college-friendly' menu

Dallas-based Velvet Taco has created an exclusive menu at its three restaurants located on or near college campuses — in Norman, Oklahoma and Lubbock and and College Station in Texas — giving customers wallet-friendly menu items for pre-games, after-parties and everything in between, according to a company press release.

The menu includes seven tacos and sides, including the Brisket Mac 'n' Cheese and the Hangover Breakfast, featuring brisket, pork, peppered bacon, crispy potatoes, and scrambled eggs topped with a cheese blend on a flour tortilla.

"Creating an emotional connection to our menu is part of Velvet Taco's menu DNA, and our college menu is a representation of that," Director of Culinary Venecia Willis said in the release. "Not only do the new menu items offer the same scratch-made ingredients as our core menu items, but they were developed to attract students who want something more nostalgic at a wallet-friendly cost. I had a lot of fun developing these items.

Each location will offer a Tuesday happy hour menu from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring special drinks and taco offers, according to the release.
