Veggie Grill has named Michael Beck as vice president of Development. Beck joins CEO Greg Dollarhyde and co-founders Kevin Boylan and T.K. Pillan as they continue to expand the Veggie Grill brand along the West Coast.
"We are very excited to bring a pro like Mike on board as we ramp up growth at Veggie Grill," Dollarhyde said. "Mike brings decades of experience and achievement to the team that will be integral to our future success and rollout."
With more than 25 years of corporate real estate experience, Beck has led the expansion of known brands and several start-up concepts.
As head of real estate and construction at Ruby Tuesday, Pinkberry, Extended StayAmerica, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Blockbuster Entertainment, Beck developed teams, systems and industry relationships supporting rapid growth, oversaw market planning and site selection and managed all aspects of new store development.
At Veggie Grill, Beck will be responsible for market planning, site selection, contract negotiations, asset management and lease administration for all locations. Currently Veggie Grill has 11 locations from Southern California to Seattle, with more scheduled in additional markets in 2012 and beyond.
"Veggie Grill is a business whose time has come. Its menu is on-trend and the compelling performance of the stores fits the model for rapid growth and expansion," Beck said. "Plus, it's a company with a mission I find personally fulfilling. A plant-based diet can have such a positive impact on our health and the planet."
