Irish beef is returning to the US market after a 15-year hiatus, according to the Irish Times.
The US banned imports of European beef following the bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) crisis – more popularly known as "mad cow disease" -- in the late 1990s. The ban was lifted in March 2014, and Ireland will become the first EU state to return to the U.S. market.
