Smashburger opened its third Dallas location Wednesday in Uptown Plaza on the corner of McKinney Avenue and Pearl Street. This is the third of 10 Dallas area Smashburgers scheduled to open within the next three years, part of a 30-unit expansion in the area within the next five years.
The burger chain currently has Dallas locations in Addison and Las Colinas.
Smashburger is celebrating its latest opening with benevolence. The restaurant has partnered with Family Gateway, an organization that works toward breaking the generational cycle of homelessness by providing individualized care to homeless families with children. Through Jan. 17, one dollar from each Lonestar Smashburger sold will go directly to this organization.
Additionally, franchise partner DC Rightside LLC will donate $500 to Family Gateway during the promotion.
“Family Gateway is an organization my franchise partners and I are proud to support,” said Jessica Colombo, franchise partner and Family Gateway board member. “Smashburger prides itself on being a family friendly establishment and what better way to support families than giving back to those in need.”
The Dallas-Fort Worth-area Smashburgers feature regional items with southwestern flavors, including:
“We are excited to bring our ‘better burger’ to Uptown,” says Smashburger Founder Tom Ryan. "Burger Lovers in Dallas are sure to love Smashburger, especially with the Texas original, The Lonestar Smashbuger."
Dallas Cowboys linemen Marc Colombo and Leonard Davis, and their wives Jessica Colombo and Amanda Davis, along with Tye Williams, are franchise partners in opening the first five DFW-area Smashburgers through DC Rightside LLC, a separate entity under the umbrella company of BIGG Capital Holdings LLC.
