United Supermarkets, Red Mango test in-store concept

United Supermarkets has announced a strategic relationship with Red Mango to test an in-store concept offering healthy frozen yogurt and smoothies to its grocery guests.

United is slated to open its first Red Mango counter later this month at its Judge Ely Boulevard location in Abilene, Texas. Construction began Monday.

This is the first Red Mango location in Abilene and it will be operated by Lubbock, Texas-based Beach Ventures LLC. Buddy Beach is the franchisee holder for Red Mango and operates a full-sized Red Mango location in Lubbock.

“Both United and Red Mango share a commitment to the health and wellness of our guests, so we feel this is a natural fit. We are excited to offer our guests a unique in-store experience with Red Mango,” said Wes Jackson, chief merchandising officer for United Supermarkets LLC.

The Red Mango counter also will serve Arriba! coffee, United’s popular house brand.

Now in its 96^th year of operation, United Supermarkets LLC, is a Texas-based, family-owned grocery chain with stores in 30 markets across north and west Texas.
