Uncle Maddio's rolls out Florida expansion

Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint will soon enter the Orlando market.

Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint will soon enter the Orlando market, the company announced. Tallahassee franchisee Michael Holmes has signed an agreement to build three units in Orlando in the next four years, according to a press release. Holmes, and operating partners Nick Holmes and Tyler Lackey, will open the first restaurant in the first quarter of 2016.

Holmes has worked in the restaurant industry for four years, but has 15 years of experience in the fast casual segment, as his parents are Firehouse Subs franchisees. Holmes owns the franchise rights to four Uncle Maddio's restaurants in Tallahassee and will open the other two Tallahassee locations in the next 18 months.

"After the success of my first Uncle Maddio's restaurant in Tallahassee, I knew I wanted to continue my franchise into Orlando," said Michael Holmes, Uncle Maddio's Florida franchisee, in a statement. "Our Tallahassee restaurant guests have reacted positively to the brand and love the food, and I'm confident our Orlando guests will feel the same."

Additionally, Uncle Maddio's opened the first of five locations in Jacksonville, Florida. and will soon open its first of three units in Panama City Beach. Both franchisees are multi-unit franchisees of other QSR and Fast Casual concepts, the announcement said. The company also signed an agreement to build three units each in the Sarasota and Ocala areas.

"Florida is a robust market for us and we will continue to grow our presence there in the next few years," Uncle Maddio's CEO Matt Andrew said in a statement. "Michael has been a great franchise partner and we are excited to expand across the state with him."
