Uncle Maddio's Pizza continues to expand in Florida with the openings of a second Tallahassee location and the first unit in Ocala. Uncle Maddio’s already has opened units in Panama City, Jacksonville and Tallahassee, and planned units in Sarasota and Orlando, according to a company press release.
Uncle Maddio Franchisees Michael and Alicia Holmes opened the second Tallahassee restaurant at 1435 E. Lafayette St., Suite 101 in Tally Village across from Governor’s Square Mall. Kim Ragle, the franchisee for Ocala, opened the unit at 2606 SW 19th Avenue Road, and plans to open two more units in the area over the next two years.
“I’m committed to making Uncle Maddio’s the top pizza restaurant in Tallahassee and Orlando,” said Michael Holmes, Uncle Maddio’s franchisee. “My goal is to introduce more people to the concept and make it convenient to get delicious, homemade pizza with fresh ingredients no matter where you are in Tallahassee and Orlando.”
The Holmes opened the first Tallahassee location at 3122 Mahan Dr., over two years ago. They are also developing the Orlando market and will open the first of three Orlando locations this spring, making the couple one of the fastest-growing Uncle Maddio’s franchisees in Florida, the release stated. The Orlando restaurant will open in the Waterford Lakes Town Center.
Ragle is a new member of the fast casual pizza business. She holds a bachelor of science degree in exercise physiology and nursing and is a practicing registered nurse and a mother to two children. She and her husband, Ritch, are now taking their interest and enthusiasm for business and adding restaurant franchisees to their resumes. While still keeping their current jobs, they will also be able to follow their dream of becoming entrepreneurs and remain active in the Ocala community.
“This is going to be big year for the brand as we open restaurants across Florida in 2016,” said Matt Andrew, Uncle Maddio’s CEO. “Michael is building a fantastic franchise business in the state and he will be a key partner as we expand our Florida footprint. We are also delighted to have Kim join the Uncle Maddio’s team.”
