UK milkshake brand coming to America

United Kingdom-based ShakeAway is coming to America. The fast casual milkshake brand will open locations by the end of the year and some in 2014, in California, New York and Georgia. The concept, which launched in 1999, has units open in more than 60 countries worldwide and has plans to open more than 150 shops in 12 countries over the next few years, according to a company press release.

ShakeAway serves customized-to-order milkshakes, smoothies, soda shakes, hot shakes and frozen yogurts created by servers known as Shakettes. Customers choose from more than 180 ingredients to invent their shakes.

The brand also serves low-fat French fries.
