Leon, a UK-based fast food brand, is launching its first U.S. location in Washington, D.C. late this summer, according to a company press release.
Founded in 2004, Leon's mission is to "make it easier for everyone to eat and live well" and has 52 locations in the U.K., Norway, and the Netherlands. The menuu features dishes that draw on the flavors and natural goodness of the Mediterranean food culture, according to the release.
"D.C. is a wonderful city and I can't wait to begin our American adventure here," CEO John Vincent said in the release. "We chose D.C. as our entry point into the U.S. market because of its culturally creative mindset, pedestrian-friendly landscape and foodie-lifestyle. Choosing the first American city is like trying to choose from your favorite box of chocolates. After D.C., we are looking forward to opening in other cities that have a similar culture of dynamism, positivity and possibility."
Vincent will keynote the 2018 Fast Casual Executive Summit, Oct. 7-9 in Seattle. Registration is now open.
