Phoenix-based True Food Kitchen is transitioning its kitchens and menus to become 100% seed oil-free. All 46 locations in 18 states now use heart-healthy avocado and olive oils, eliminating industrial seed oils from every ingredient.
"This isn't just a trend or a tagline — this is who we are," Matthew Padilla, head of Culinary at True Food Kitchen, said in a company press release. "Most people don't realize how pervasive seed oils are in everyday ingredients and eliminating them meant reevaluating hundreds of items across our kitchens. It was a massive undertaking, but it was worth every step to deliver cleaner, better meals to our guests. We're proud to lead the charge and redefine what health-focused dining at scale looks like."
The move to eliminate seed oils has been years in the making. In 2022, the chain committed to cooking with only avocado and olive oils and eliminated seed oils from 98% of its menu. Now, it has reached the finish line.
"By eliminating seed oils entirely, we're staying True to principles that have guided us for decades," Daniella Voysey Olson, chief growth officer said in the release. "True Food Kitchen has always led with thoughtful ingredient choices, and I'm thrilled to be a part of this brand as we continue to create experiences where guests can have an amazing meal without compromising their health and wellness goals."
