Tropical Smoothie's Q3 same-store sales climb nearly 20%

Atlanta-based Tropical Smoothie Cafe LLC is continuing to break sales records, reporting this week that same-store sales were up nearly 20% during Q3, and that year-to-date same-store sales climbed 3.4%.

"As we head into the final quarter of 2020 on a high note, we will continue to elevate the consumer experience by providing more ways to access our innovative menu offerings, whether it is ordering ahead, scheduling delivery or arranging for curbside pickup," CEO Charles Watson said in a company press release.

The brand, which has opened 75 cafes this year and will add 10 more by the end of 2020, has signed 184 franchise agreements year-to-date.

"I am confident we will close out the year on a positive note, positioning us for a record-setting 2021," said Watson, who attributed the chain's growth to it franchisees' commitment to engage with their communities.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe has nearly 900 locations.
