Tropical Smoothie to let kids eat free
August 25, 2009
Tropical Smoothie Café is celebrating the introduction of its new Kids Combo Meals by offering kids 12 and younger a chance to enjoy the meals for free on Sundays for a limited time.
From Aug. 30 through Oct. 3 in all 280 Tropical Smoothie Cafés throughout the United States, kids can receive the new Big Kahuna Combo free on Sundays when an accompanying adult purchases a Paradise Combo. The Big Kahuna Combo includes a food item, side and 12-ounce Kid's Smoothie. Kids also have the option of choosing the new Little Surfer Combo (food item, side and 12-ounce soda) as their free meal.
The Kids Combo Meals are a prominent addition to the new menu at Tropical Smoothie Café, which debuted in August in all of the restaurants. The menu features new food items and recipes such as Cheese Pizza, Banana Mania Smoothie and a Kid Flatbread, which comes in three varieties: ham and American cheese, turkey and provolone, and grilled cheese.
In addition to giving kids a new meal option, Tropical Smoothie Café is offering the organizations that support school programs and other youth activities an opportunity to maximize their charitable efforts through the restaurant chain's In-Store Fundraising Program.
The program gives back a portion of Tropical Smoothie sales during a specified time and date to a community organization to fund its activities and events.
After arranging a time and date with the manager or owner of a Tropical Smoothie Café, the restaurant will display customized flyers advertising the fundraiser a week prior to the event. The restaurant also will provide organizations an electronic copy of the flyer to print and pass out.
