Tropical Smoothie Café announced today plans to develop as many as 40 locations in the Atlanta metropolitan area in coming years. The Atlanta expansion is part of the 385-unit brand’s overall growth strategy to have 750 units nationwide by 2019.
The Atlanta-based brand currently operates a company-owned café on Mount Vernon Highway in Atlanta and opened its first franchise location in Conyers, Ga., this year. A third location is slated to open this fall on Briarcliff Road, Atlanta, which will be owned by franchise partner Scott Temme.
"I’m eager to join the Tropical Smoothie Café team because I’ll be serving my neighbors food and smoothies that not only taste delicious but will also help them live life to the fullest," he said in a company press release. "The brand’s dual focus on fresh food and smoothies packed with fruits and veggies will fill a void in Atlanta, making owning a café a smart business decision."
Tropical Smoothie Café is currently seeking franchise partners to develop up to 40 locations throughout the Atlanta area, including Buckhead, Midtown, Downtown, Highlands, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Vinings, Marietta, Alpharetta, and College Park, among others.
"Atlanta is primed for development because we have strong brand awareness here even though we don’t have a huge presence yet," said Tropical Smoothie Café CEO Mike Rotondo. "In addition to being headquartered here, many residents know and like our brand because they have experienced Tropical Smoothie Café in nearby markets throughout the Southeast. Couple that recognition with the overwhelming demand for healthier, convenient food, and it makes perfect sense to expand here now."
