August 3, 2008
Florida Today:As fast-food operators continue to suffer from a sluggish economy, the Tropical Smoothie Café chain continues to grow.
The Destin, Fla.-based restaurant chain recently opened two Brevard County, Fla. locations and now has six locations on the Space Coast. With about 260 units in 34 states already, the fast-casual chain plans to hit the 300-store mark this year.
The privately held company's system-wide sales for fiscal year 2007 were a little more than $100 million, and officials expect 2008 revenue to grow 30 percent.
