Tropical Smoothie appoints new VP of operations

DESTIN, Fla. — Tropical Smoothie Café has announced Mike Rotondo has joined the company as vice president of operations. Rotondo will provide guidance on projects that include franchisee and area developer operations-training and real-estate site selection.
Rotondo, most recently vice president of operations for Atlanta-based Great Wraps, has more than 18 years of restaurant experience, working for brands such as Wendy's International, Arby's Restaurant Group and Honeybaked Ham.
He began his career with Wendy's, where he became the first certified Phase II training manager as part of the brand's management training program that was rolled out in the late 1980s. Rotondo co-authored with his wife, Jennifer, an education book titled "Presentation Skills for Managers," part of a McGraw-Hill Briefcase book series.
