Tossed, a New York City-based chain that serves garden fresh salads, crepe wraps and sandwiches, will open its first Canadian location Oct. 21. The restaurant is located at 769 Hornby Street in Vancouver, British Columbia, and will host a "free food day" Oct. 20. All customers will receive one free entree while supplies last from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Tossed restaurants, founded in 1998, is in the midst of a major expansion and is currently in the process of opening locations in Boston, Los Angeles, Boca Raton, Fla., Chicago and Washington, D.C.
"Vancouver is a progressive city that embraces the healthy lifestyle that is at the heart of the Tossed concept," said Jeff Potoroka, owner of the Canadian Tossed. "We're looking forward to bringing a better choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner to the people of Vancouver."
The company intends to work closely with farmers and bakeries to bring locally produced food products to its new Hornby Street location, according to Eric Schmitt, CEO of Tossed Franchise Corporation.
