Torchy's Tacos has teamed up with the Kansas City Chiefs and wide receiver Xavier Worthy to launch the "Torch the Defense" promotion, which will award fans with free tacos and raise money for charity.

The fast casual brand, which is in its second year as the official taco and queso of the Chiefs, will donate $1 to The Worthy 1's foundation each time the "Torch the Defense" deal is redeemed.

The promotion is triggered when a Chiefs player makes a pass, run or return of 30 yards or more. When this happens, fans will receive a buy-one-get-one-free taco offer. The deal is active for two days after the game and is available for online and in-restaurant orders at all Torchy's locations.

Worthy's foundation supports single mothers, families and youth in Fresno, California; Kansas City, Missouri; and Austin, Texas.

"My mom made a lot of sacrifices for me and my sisters, and it was important to me to honor her and give back to families that looked like mine," Worthy said in a press release. "The Worthy 1's is how I do that. Having Torchy's, an Austin brand I loved in college, join forces with the Chiefs makes this impact even bigger!"

Torchy's CEO Paul Macaluso echoed the sentiment, linking football's passion to the company's ethos.

"Football is about passion and community, everything we live for at Torchy's," Macaluso said in the release. "Partnering with the Chiefs and Xavier Worthy lets us take that energy nationwide. Whether you're in Kansas City, Austin, Orlando or beyond, Chiefs fans can celebrate the big plays with Damn Good tacos and make a difference while doing it."

Torchy's Tacos, which began as a food trailer in Austin in 2006, now operates 125 locations across the country.
