Tropical Smoothie Café opened its fourth Atlanta-area location recently, and hopes to add 40 more.
The newest café opened Nov. 5 at 2566 Briarcliff Road NE in the North Druid Hills neighborhood and is owned by local franchise partner Scott Temme. Other Atlanta-area locations include a company-owned café at the Perimeter Mall and franchise locations in Conyers and Stockbridge.
"There's tremendous energy behind Tropical Smoothie Café in Atlanta right now," CEO Mike Rotondo said in a company press release. "As we continue to penetrate the market with new cafés, more and more customers are demanding greater access to our brand and that's spurring growth from franchise partners."
The brand is currently seeking franchise partners to develop up to 40 locations throughout the Atlanta area, including in Buckhead, Midtown, Downtown, Highlands, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Vinings, Marietta, Alpharetta, College Park, among other neighborhoods.
The local Atlanta expansion is part of the brand's overall growth strategy to have 800 units nationwide by 2018. Next year, Tropical Smoothie Café expects to open 100 additional locations throughout the country.
