Tender Greens was launched based on the idea of creating a conscious connection between what diners eat and the source of that sustenance. The majority of Tender Greens' produce comes from Scarborough Farms in Oxnard, Calif. and is picked daily.

Interiors are designed to reflect the natural elements of the outdoors, creating an open, airy and comfortable 'third place' for guests to unwind. Each location also opens with its own executive chef, who is given room to explore his or her foodie passions.

Tender Greens is the brainchild of Erik Oberholtzer, co-owner and chef, who plans to grow the chain from seven locations to 30 over the next 10 years.
