Togo's set to open in Atwater, Calif.

Togo's is opening its first restaurant in Atwater, California.

Togo's Eateries Inc. will give away 1,000 free Hot Pastrami or Turkey and Avocado sandwiches to celebrate the opening of its first restaurant in Atwater, California.

The new restaurant is located at 1511 Bell Rd. in Applegate Square. The restaurant will host a training fundraiser for Atwater High School and Buhach Colony High School on Sept. 17 from 4-6 p.m., and the grand opening will take place on Sept. 19.

"I've had a lifelong passion for healthy, delicious food, and that is why I am excited to bring Togo's to Atwater," said Givargis Ishaya, franchisee of Togo's Atwater, in a company press release. "We have a lot of free sandwiches to give away this month, and we cannot wait to open our door to guests."

Giveaways will be offered for a month. They include:

• Week 1: 1,000 free #9 Hot Pastrami or #24 Turkey and Avocado Sandwiches to the first 1,000 fans who 'like' Togo's Atwater on Facebook.
• Week 2: One free sandwich a week for a year to every 100th guest each day.
• Week 3: Free chips and drink with every large sandwich purchase.
• Week 4: Daily social media contest for a free catering tray.
