Togo's heating up Arizona

September 12, 2012

Togo's Eateries Inc., has opened its first unit in Arizona. The restaurant, located at 1520 W. Guadalupe Rd. in the Shops at Fiesta Ranch in Gilbert, will host its official grand opening Sept. 17 with music, prizes and a local fundraiser.

To further mark Togo's arrival in Arizona, the restaurant has awarded its 10,000th customer -- Paul Browne, a Gilbert resident and former Californian, with one free 6-inch regular sandwich each week for one-year.

"Our new restaurant has experienced strong sales and very positive feedback since we opened earlier this summer," said Togo's Franchisee Monty Coury. "Surprising Paul with free sandwiches for one-year was definitely a highlight, especially since he was already such a fan of our brand. We're excited for our upcoming grand opening celebration and encourage residents of the town of Gilbert to come out for the festivities."

Coury has a background in commercial development and always wanted to return to his roots in the restaurant and hospitality industries. The Gilbert Togo's is his first restaurant opening, and he has two more Togo's in development for Maricopa County.

Recently, Togo's marked its 40th anniversary with more than 250 locations open on the West Coast of the United States. As for additional expansion, the company is seeking to reach 400 new locations in key markets such as Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington by 2015.
