Tin Star opens taco bar in Arlington

August 18, 2010

Tin Star has announced the opening of its new taco bar location at the Parks Mall in Arlington, Texas.

This is the second mall location for the 10-unit restaurant chain, which has locations in Texas and Oklahoma. The Arlington store is owned by technology industry veteran Sam Aruti, who has signed an area development agreement to open additional locations in the Mid Cities area.

The Arlington taco bar will feature an extended kids meal with healthy choices, a new gluten-free menu, daily breakfast, wireless Internet, online ordering and digital menu boards. It will also offer 10 percent off a purchase for firefighters, police officers, military and seniors.

"We are thrilled to welcome Sam to the Tin Star family," said Mike Rangel, Tin Star brand owner and president of M.D. Rangel Enterprises. "With our success at NorthPark Mall, we hope our second mall location will be a warm welcome to the families who frequent the Parks Mall."

Rangel has a controlled growth plan for the franchise, limiting expansion to Texas and Oklahoma. In addition to Arlington, Tin Star is adding a new Uptown Dallas store in the Rosewood Center and plans to introduce an updated menu in September featuring healthier choices and special promotions.
