Tin Drum Asiacafe signs largest franchise deal to date

April 25, 2013

Tin Drum Asiacafe has signed a seven-unit development agreement in Nashville, Tenn., with Canusa Enterprises, a regional restaurant group. This marks Tin Drum's first agreement for Tennessee and its largest franchise deal to date.

The brand currently has 13 units across Georgia and Alabama and plans to open eight additional units this year.

"After thorough market research, we're confident in our decision to begin development of Tin Drum in Tennessee — Nashville specifically," said Steven Chan, Tin Drum's founder and CEO.

All Nashville Tin Drum units will be designed to feel like a street-side cafe in Asia with urban and upbeat decor — a reflection of Chan's childhood in Hong Kong. The menu will include more than 35 items made with both traditional and non-traditional Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian influences along with the chain's 15 signature sauces.

The concept, which recently opened a unit in Roswell, Ga., is also actively pursuing franchisees in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and the Carolinas.
