The Hummus & Pita Co opening in Alabama

The Hummus & Pita Co. is opening a location Thursday in Huntsville, Alabama, at 2137 S. Memorial Pkwy. To celebrate the grand opening, the Brooklyn-based chain will give free meals to Thursday's first 50 customers and is welcoming all first responders to eat free Wednesday during its soft opening, according to a company press release.
The restaurant, which is part of a five-location deal with Premier King Inc., is joining another location that opened in November in Atlanta. Another unit will launch by year's end in Montgomery, Alabama.
"We're excited to be expanding The Hummus & Pita Co. further into the southeast with the Huntsville opening," co-founder Dave Pesso said in the release. "The popularity of Mediterranean cuisine is rapidly growing in the Southeast and we look forward to introducing our fresh, innovative, and flavorful meals to this region."
The Hummus & Pita Co. opened in 2011.
