The Halal Guys opening in East Brunswick, New Jersey

The Halal Guys has partnered with Fransmart to expand the brand and is aiming to have locations open in the north New Jersey and D.C. area by year's end.

The Halal Guys will open this month in East Brunswick, New Jersey, on Route 18 South, and the location is the first of a number of units planned for New Jersey and the east coast, according to a company press release.

The Halal Guys has partnered with Fransmart to help expand the brand and is hoping to have subsequent locations open by the end of 2016, in the North New Jersey and D.C. areas. Since 2014, it has opened two corporate brick-and-mortar restaurants in Manhattan, and six franchised locations in the cities of Chicago, Houston, Manila, Long Beach and Costa Mesa. It also has more than 300 franchise units in development in territories including Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, the entire state of California and the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea and Canada.
