The Habit Burger Grill opens May 2 in Charlotte, North Carolina

The Habit Burger Grill will open in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 2 and marks the brand's first store in the state.

"Coast to coast, Americans are loving the taste of The Habit, and we couldn't be more excited to open in Charlotte. We look forward to introducing the Charlotte community to The Habit hospitality and our flame-grilled Charburgers," said Iwona Alter, chief brand officer, in a press release.

The restaurant is located at 209 S. Kings Drive, near Highway 277 and seats more than 60 in the dining room and patio.

The fast casual brand will hold several pre-open events benefiting local organizations and schools.

The first 50 people in line at 10:30 a.m. on opening day will receive free Charburgers with cheese for a year.
