Chicago-based The Goddess and Grocer is opening its fifth location this summer in the city's West Loop at 911 W. Randolph St.
"I am excited to open in the West Loop as that is where I live now, and a two-block walk to work is a dream," Debbie Sharpe, owner of The Goddess and Grocer, said in a company press release. "When I lived in Bucktown, I opened the first Goddess there because I wanted a neighborhood place, and now that the West Loop is my neighborhood, I had no choice."
The airy space will feature floor-to-ceiling windows, counter seating overlooking the sidewalk as well as a dog-friendly patio with sidewalk and street seating for 60 guests.
It will serve long-time favorites as well as dishes from a yet-to-be-named new chef. Options include pastries, house-made desserts and a full artisan coffee bar, including draft coffee and kombucha. The menu will also include made-to-order breakfasts, sandwiches and an expanded salad bar. The prepared food case will be a changing menu of seasonal food and what's fresh from the market.
The retail store will be filled regularly with The Goddess' favorite things, hard-to-find artisanal products, and a sizable global wine selection, including unique organic and sustainable wines, according to the release.
