The Dolly Llama doubling footprint this summer

June 6, 2019

The Dolly Llama, an LA-based dessert concept from French restaurateur Samuel Baroux and real estate leader Eric Shomof, is adding two units this summer. The first is at 14545 Ventura Blvd., in Sherman Oaks, and the second will open in the Northridge Fashion Center Mall, debuting he brand's kiosk format.

"Opening the first The Dolly Llama was the dream," Shomof said in a company press release "Since that first day, the dream has continued to grow, change, and evolve to where we are today. The Dolly Llama doubling in size this summer is already thrilling, but the debut of our kiosk format will also broaden the possibilities for future Dolly Llama expansion."

The concept, which first opened in 2017, and now has two locations in L.A., sent two of its France-based chefs to Belgium to become waffle masters, according to the release.

The menu includes a variety of dessert options and waffles, including the bubble waffle, a staple in Hong Kong street food that produces a crispy and custard-like texture, Baroux said. One specialty item is the Sugar 'N' Spice, served in a waffle featuring horchata ice cream, cookie, cinnamon toast crunch cereal and a caramel sauce drizzle.

Other options include ice cream sandwiches, shakes, waffle sticks and a build-your-own menu.
