Bread & Butter Concepts' fifth restaurant, Taco Republic, recently opened in Kansas City, Mo. The restaurant sells street-style tacos with a variety of ingredients; Bocaditos (snacks) including several tortilla chips & dip combinations, a to-go only option and Wood-Fired Pollo, according to a company press release.
Taco Republic's atmosphere is a laid-back and light-hearted scene in a repurposed gas station with available indoor and outdoor seating, lawn games, bright color scheme and retro-artwork, according to the release.
Taco Republic has already garnered a strong following due to the presence of the Taco Republic Truck on the streets of the Kansas City metro area. Locals have gotten a chance to sample the offerings on an abbreviated menu and the response has been excellent, according to the release.
In addition to indoor and outdoor seating, Taco Republic features a walk-up to-go window, where the to-go only Wood-Fired Pollo is available. This authentic chicken comes with charro beans, rice and soft tortillas and is available in half and whole chickens. The Wood-Fired Pollo is prepared in limited quantities. A neon sign by the walk-up window on the east side of the restaurant will flash either "Pollo" or "No Pollo" to indicate whether the chicken is available or not.
The restaurant also has a variety of beer, margaritas, sangria and tequilas.
