Taco Cabana is bringing a piece of Dallas' art history home. The "Tango Frogs" – 10-foot tall sculptures of frogs playing musical instruments — will be installed on the roof of Taco Cabana's location at 1827 Greenville Avenue.
The Tango Frogs were removed from the site, which was then a nightclub named Tango, more than 30 years ago, according to a news release.
"We've always known that our Lower Greenville location is a very special place, and with the revitalization of the neighborhood, the Tango Frogs are the perfect addition," said Taco Cabana COO Todd Coerver. "The whole city is excited about the frogs' homecoming, and we couldn't be happier to have them on our roof, where they belong."
Taco Cabana will host an '80s-themed patio party at the restaurant on June 26, from 4–9 p.m. in celebration of the frogs' return. Artist Bob "Daddy-O" Wade, creator of the sculpures, will be in attendance.
