Christopher Tarrant, former CDO of Nothing Bundt Cakes, has joined Los Angeles-based Sweetgreen as SVP and chief development officer to oversee real estate development, design and construction. He reports to COO Rossann Williams, who has been in the role since leaving Starbucks in February.
"We are thrilled to have Chris on the team as we embark on this next phase of pivotal growth," Williams said in a company press release. "With Chris' extensive real estate experience and industry knowledge, he's an invaluable addition as we advance our mission to connect more communities to real food."
Before joining Nothing Bundt Cakes, Tarrant spent over six years at Starbucks, helping to lead retail store development across North America. He also has experience leading real estate strategies McDonald's, Panera Bread, and Krispy Kreme.
"Sweetgreen is transforming the world of fast food, both by offering quality, delicious food and driving thoughtful growth strategies that stay true to its mission," Tarrant said in the release. "I'm excited to join the team at a critical moment of growth, and to work hand in hand with the leadership team as we bring Sweetgreen to more communities nationwide."
Since opening its first 560-square-foot location in 2007, Sweetgreen has scaled to over 230 locations across the United States.
