Sweetgreen Chief Financial Officer Mitch Reback will retire after a decade with the company, and Jamie McConnell, most recently chief accounting and administrative officer at Chipotle, will take over as CFO.
Reback's retirement is effective Sept. 21, and McConnell will step into the role on Sept. 22. Reback will stay on for six months in an advisory role to assist with the transition.
"Under (Reback's) guidance, we strengthened our financial model and positioned the company for profitable growth in the years ahead," Sweetgreen CEO and co-founder Jonathan Neman said in a company press release.
Reback joined Sweetgreen in 2015 when it was a small regional chain. He helped build its financial infrastructure and guided its transition into a publicly traded company.
"It has been a thrilling journey to serve as Sweetgreen's CFO for the past 10 years," Reback said in the release. "While we have come far, I'm confident Sweetgreen's best days remain ahead."
McConnell has over 20 years of financial leadership experience in the restaurant, retail and e-commerce industries.
"I'm excited to partner with the team to scale the business, drive sustainable growth and create meaningful value for all stakeholders," McConnell said in the release.
Sweetgreen has over 260 locations across the country.
