Sweet Lorraine’s Fabulous Mac n’ Cheez! will soon be available to Wolverine fans thanks to its recently signed development deal with the University of Michigan.
Set to open the first location in the Big House (Michigan Stadium) by the first home game on Sept. 12, Sweet Lorraine’s Fabulous Mac n’ Cheez! will also be opening locations in the Crisler Center and the Yost Ice Arena, according to a company press release.
"The opportunity presented itself to build a lasting relationship with the long-standing Michigan favorite and we jumped at the chance to take it," said Gary Sussman, CEO of Sweet Lorraine’s Fabulous Mac n’ Cheez! "The university wanted a local concept that could provide more than hot dogs and nachos and we are confident that mac n’ cheese will hit the spot that Wolverine fans are looking for."
Sweet Lorraine’s will have two kiosks in the nation’s largest football stadium. The main level kiosk will serve Classic Mac, Bacon Cheddar Mac, and Pesto Mac. The Jack Roth Club Level will feature a similar menu but will also include Sweet Lorraine’s Lobster BLT Mac.
A brick-and-motor location will open in the Crisler Center with a similar menu to the Big House’s main level kiosk. Plans for the Yost Ice Arena’s location and menu are being finalized, according to the release.
Founded in 2010 and franchising since 2013, the Detroit-based restaurant chain offers vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free soups, salads, sandwich wraps, grilled cheese and 14 different kinds of meat-topped and vegetarian macaroni and cheese.
The chain is pursuing additional universities, student unions and airports in which to partner, according to the release.
