Subway launches delivery service
February 7, 2006
Southwest Floridians will soon be able to call 888-SUB-TO-GO and have Subway sandwiches delivered to their door. Subway franchisees in southwest Florida purchased the National-One-Number delivery solution from Universal Delivery Solutions (UDSG).
According to UDSG spokesman Ryan Coblin, customers call the branded number and UDSG operators take the orders. The order is processed to the store's POS system and Subway employees deliver the sandwich. According to a news release, the system will be implemented in the Naples-Fort Myers territory.
Coblin said the company will send magnet mailers and flyers to 20,000 to 30,000 households near the stores' proximity. He said consumers demand convenience and new technology such as the delivery solution and curbside is the future for the restaurant industry.
