Subway, Cava Grill execs will discuss supply-chain traceability during free webinar

Execs will discuss how they are taking a proactive approach to implementing end-to-end traceability across their supply chain.

Amid national attention around food-borne illnesses and increasing customer demand, it’s more important than ever for restaurant operators to achieve greater transparency throughout their food supply chain, which is why FastCasual has teamed up with FoodLogiQ to offer a free webinar, "Traceability 101: Tips for Achieving Farm-to-Fork Supply Chain Transparency to Increase Food Safety and Manage Quality."

The webinar, scheduled for 2 p.m., March 1, will feature execs from Subway and Cava Grill, who will discuss how they are taking a proactive approach to implementing end-to-end traceability across their supply chain. In the webinar, restaurant operators will learn:

  • The basic components and benefits of end-to-end traceability 
  • Key lessons from a national pilot program
  • Elements of traceability for all types of chains, big and small
  • Tips for selling the C-suite on traceability

Speakers include:

  • Lucelena Angarita, Quality/GS1 program manager, IPC — Subway's Purchasing Cooperative, who leads the the adoption of GS1 US Foodservice Standards for the Subway system.
  • Sarela Herrada, director of Supply Chain at Cava, where she has created a culture of transparency, focusing on sustainable growth, cost management, quality performance, and a thoughtful supply chain.
  • and Cherryh Cansler, managing editor of FastCasual.com, who will moderate the discussion.
