Starbucks opens first Philadelphia airport location

June 24, 2014

Starbucks recently opened its first Philadelphia International Airport store.

The new Starbucks is located in the Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops in the B/C Connector, between Terminals B and C. This Starbucks is HMSHost’s first location in Philadelphia International Airport and will employ approximately 30 people, according to a news release.

"Starbucks is an American institution. It is one of the few brands that strikes instant recognition in people everywhere, and its reputation is renowned for great coffee, good food and a friendly place to hang out,” said Philadelphia International Airport CEO Mark Gale. “Our customers have been asking for Starbucks, we've listened and we're pleased to now have Starbucks serving our airport."

The new location is designed to reflect Philadelphia's Victorian architecture. The seating area is enclosed with laser-cut hickory panels featuring a Victorian motif, the release said.
