Starbucks jumping into burger space via La Boulange concept

Starbucks’ La Boulange bakery-café concept will open a Los Angeles unit on June 11 that will be aimed toward the dinner crowd. According to the Associated Press, it will sell burgers, as well as beer, wine, cocktails and milkshakes.

Starbucks purchased the La Boulange chain in 2012. Most of the concept’s locations are focused on breakfast and lunch and close before 7 p.m. The LA location is the first outside of the San Francisco market and will include an expanded menu designed for the evening daypart.

Company representatives said they will see how this one goes before solidifying future plans.
