Starbucks General Counsel Rachel Gonzalez is stepping down but will serve as an adviser until she leaves the company on May 20. She will receive at least $7.5 million in severance, prorated bonuses, equity grants and other benefits, according to the chain's most recent SEC filing.
The announcement marks the first major change in the leadership team since Starbucks founder Howard Schultz returned as interim CEO.
Gonzalez joined the company in 2018.
