Starbucks is embracing functional beverages thanks to a partnership with Sol-ti, a San Diego-based functional beverage brand. Highlighting a growing trend toward wellness-focused drinks in the restaurant industry, the organic, cold-pressed SuperShots, bottled in glass, began rolling out to participating Starbucks locations last week.
The Starbucks menu features a Turmeric shot, made with a mix of black pepper and cold-pressed organic turmeric, apple and lemon juices. Another option, Ginger, contains cold-pressed organic ginger, lemon and green apple. Both are 20 calories.
"This expansion is a significant milestone for Sol-ti and a testament to the growing consumer demand for high-quality, functional wellness products that are bottled in glass for purity and the planet," Ryne O'Donnell, founder of Sol-ti, said in a company press release. "We're honored to support our retail partners as they continue to make functional beverage options more accessible to people across the country."
Each 2.1-ounce SuperShot is packed with pressed organic ingredients known for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Sol-ti uses a patented UV light filtration process designed to preserve nutrients and enhance taste. The company's use of glass bottles and biodegradable packaging aligns with consumer preference for eco-friendly alternatives.
